Looking for a beautiful Springer Spaniel?   You won't find one more beautiful, loyal or loving than our, Jake.

At Meet & Greets you will find Jake relaxing, reading those in the room and waiting for you to catch his eye, so he can give you a wag of his tail, an invite to come over and meet him.  His eyes and gentle spirit tell you he has quite a story . . . .

You see, Jake is the most loving and loyal boy you will ever meet.  And he is looking for a Forever Family who will be as loving and loyal to him, forever.   Currently, he lives in an AMAZING foster home where he  has learned living in a home is pretty awesome and humans can be kind and loving.

Jake knows all of his basic commands and walks so well on a leash. We believe he will always enter new situations cautiously, but with with the confidence he has now learned by living life with his foster family. He has made an amazing recovery from his stressful beginning in life.

We believe an older, confident dog who will be is "rassling" buddy would be great for Jake.  He doesn't always need a "wingman", but life is a lot more fun with one.   He loves his foster brother, Rango, and we credit him with teaching him how to be an indoor dog, who loves toys and loves to "rassle".

Jake will thrive in a quieter home with a stable routine. Teens or older kids are fine. Once Jake gets to know you, will like to snuggle by you and sleep with you if you let him.

Jake needs a yard to exercise and play. He loves to watch TV with his family, but he also has strong roots that lead back to his breed.  He loves to sniff out mice, rabbits and birds.  And he loves to fetch, so someone who loves to be outside and will allow him to do what comes naturally is important.

His mix of German Shorthaired Pointer (with Springer Spaniel) is one of the ten healthiest breeds. His coat is smooth with minimal shedding. Very easy to groom with a wet cloth makes his shiny coat gleam.

He will make an amazing dog for a family.  Our fosters and volunteers have done an amazing job helping Jake develop into a confident and happy dog.  Now it is time for the next step in Jake's life!

Jake's approximate birthday is July 31, 2015.

About Take Me Home Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.

Our Adoption Process...

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.
