Harvey's Story...
Harvey is a 5 month old Lionhead Rabbit mix. He was dropped off at the shelter overnight in the stray cages. He is a very sweet guy that loves attention! He is a very social bunny and will make someone a loving friend! Potential adopters for rabbits should do some research on proper rabbit care and see if a rabbit would fit into their lifestyle. Rabbits are NOT recommended as "Starter Pets" for children. Potential adopters of rabbits should be aware that a rabbit can live 5-10 years and require daily vegetables and hay everyday.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harvey, a Chambersburg Lionhead was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lionhead for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Lionhead from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lionhead breeders who help with Lionhead rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
