Buster's Story...
Hi, my name is Buster (my foster mom calls me Buzz). I am a silky sweet 10 month old chocolate boy. My life was about to be cut short when DLRR stepped in to save me. My previous owners found me hanging by my neck when I was about 13 weeks old and rescued me. They were an older couple and I spent a lot of time crated. As a result, I did not develop rear hip and leg muscles like a youngster should have. During a recent vet visit my owners said they could not care for me any longer and asked the vet to put me to sleep. Thankfully DLRR was contacted and I was whisked away to safety.
Fast forward...I have been with my foster family for about six weeks and I am feeling GREAT! I love my walks and I have so much fun chasing after my foster brother. I can be trusted in the house and have been 100% good about taking care of business outside. I sleep through the night on my dog bed and I don't mind going in my crate. I love everyone I meet, both people and dogs. Am not sure about cats, but I am a pretty mellow guy who just wants to please. My forever family will need to continue my supplements and meds. I do love to go on walks, but no runners please. If you are looking for a mellow lab, I am your boy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buster, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
