Got Food?  If you like to eat and want a companion that loves food as much as you do, Kodi is your man.  This fun dog would be the perfect companion for those long  marathons of college ball or  night binge watching the latest Netflix release.  You’ll watch TV, and he’ll watch you (and the chip bowl) with equal intensity and the cutest expression.  Perhaps that’s why this guy is now on a diet (along with the rest of us!).

Kodi is a true companion dog.  He wants to run errands with you, take walks with you, and curl up next to the couch with you.  His favorite activity at home is keeping guard in the picture window.  He has to make sure to warn of all potential threats to the house like over-exuberant squirrels and neighbors walking around plotting mischief.  He has perfect manners in the house so long as food is not left on the counters.  He also is very good at not stealing other dogs’ dinners so long as they reciprocate and don’t try to steal his.

Back to the topic of food, his favorite snacks are canned pumpkin, cooked carrots, and cooked sweet potato.  Kodi is a great housemate for cats; he takes their abuse with nary a blink.  At six years old though, he’s a bit of a grumpy guy with definite opinions about being disturbed when at rest.  His Foster Mom can relate!  However, energetic little kids who haven’t learned that disturbing sleeping adults is not socially acceptable, are not his cup of tea.

He seems to know that at 100 pounds, he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do (like go outside in the rain).  It’s a good thing he’s easily bribed (yes, the topic of food again).

Monday night Cowboys game?  He’d look fantastic in blue.  Can you see that Kodi has a big personality and a big heart to match?  He'd love to share it with you!

Kodi's approximate birthday is 5/24/2010.

About Take Me Home Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.

Our Adoption Process...

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.
