How old are you? About 1 1/2 years old.
How much do you weigh? About 60 pounds.
What do you like to eat? Pretty much anything. My foster mom says I'm a really good eater.
What kind of personality do you have? I am very sweet and very gentle most of the time. I'm also pretty playful. I love toys and chasing balls. I still have some fear issues, so I can get nervous with new people or places, but I keep getting better in my foster home every day.
Describe your perfect day: Going for a long walk outside. I don’t care where we’re going – I love walks! I’m really good on the leash too! I also like snuggling with my human (I may or may not have a toy in my mouth whilst snuggling ;)
What is your favorite toy? I like lots of different toys, especially the squeaky ones! Who doesn’t???
Do you know any tricks? I do know how to sit, come, lie down and park it. I've been through obedience training so I am pretty well behaved, according to my foster mom.
What scares you? New things until I get comfortable. Oh, and the vacuum cleaner (or what I like to call the “death machine”)
Have you been around children? Do you like them? I’m okay around kids, but you need to be careful as I can get scared sometimes.
Do you like cats? To chase? Sure. I should probably not be in a home with cats, I guess.
How do you feel about other dogs? I'm pretty good with most other dogs. I like to chase little dogs, so probably shouldn’t be in a home with those either.
How is your health? I am in excellent health! I had heartworm when I was rescued, but I got my treatment, and all better now!
Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In my crate, which I love.
Where do you sleep? In my crate, and sometimes with my foster mom.
Do you like walking on a leash? Yessssss!
Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? Well, one of my bad habits is that I get verrrrrry protective of my food and stuff. We are working on that, but I need to be left alone while I’m eating.
Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) Yep!
Do you like water? Not really....no.
What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?
Pretty awful. Before I was a year old, my “owner” took me to a park at night and stabbed me in the face and neck and left to die. I lost my left eye, but thanks to a wonderful vet and other nice people I was rescued and healed up nicely. That owner went to jail, and I don’t like to think about my past. I was also left in the shelter by myself for over 5 months, and became very scared of everything. I used to be scared of the dark, and I can get scared around parks, but since I’ve been in my new foster home, I keep getting more confident by the day!
NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a "first come, first serve" basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you can visit our website at norcalbullybreedrescue.com and fill out an adoption application (from your home computer). Please allow at least 24 to 48 hours for a reply.
Rowdy's adoption donation is $200. Rowdy is neutered, UTD on his vaccinations, microchipped, HW tested and on preventive. The only thing missing now is his forever home!
Interested in meeting Rowdy or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application online at norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we'll be in touch!
