Facts about Summer

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black (Mostly)
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10721RG
  • Hair: Short
Summer was born outside in a condo development in Telford where a kind woman fed her and her siblings and parents. Tragically their outdoor living situation became very dangerous because the condo association threatened to fine their caretaker for feeding them and a neighbor threatened to poison them. Their foster mom rescued them and brought them indoors. The kittens were born in May 2016.

Summer is already the most outgoing of her siblings! She is however understandably shy and cautious with new people. Because she lived outdoors and only interacted with her caretaker, she needs some time to adjust to new people and situations.

Routine, good food, patience, and a gentle voice and hand are the keys to earning her trust, and once she bonds to her new family, she will be fiercely loyal and loving. Summer has made amazing progress in just two weeks! She now loves to be petted all over and also loves playing with her foster mom. She is so adorable and so brave. It did not take her long at all to settle in to her foster home, and she is looking for that special someone who will give her the time that she needs.

Please consider giving Summer a chance! She has been through so much and would really love to find her new family soon so that she can build trust with them and know that she has found her forever home. She needs a family that understand it will take time to earn their trust and promises it will be worth it. Here are the links to her siblings if you are interested in adopting a pair:

About Stray Cat Blues

About Our Rescue Group...

Officially, Stray Cat Blues, Inc. is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing rescue and placement to stray, abandoned, and feral cats. Personally, SCB is a small group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to find loving, life-long homes for cats. We are professional in our practices, but we are emotional on the subject of homeless cats, and the ways in which we humans can work to prevent this epidemic of strays.

Stray Cat Blues actively works to find permanent homes for the stray cats in our program. Our kittens and cats are exposed to the pet-loving public at our different adoption locations (see Come Meet our Pets section below) to facilitate adoptions and to provide visibility for our organization. Our cats can also be seen online at

Most of our cats offered for adoption are strays and their offspring that are rescued off the streets.

For those stray cats that are more wary of humans, especially feral cats, we can help humanely trap, sterilize and either return them if the area they live in is safe and they are being fed, or we house them and adopt them out as barn cats.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an application with vet references or a home visit. All the animals are screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes. Our adoption fee is only $95. (Fee can be paid by cash or check at our Petsmart North Wales/Montgomeryville location. At our Collegeville location, the fee can be paid by cash, check, or credit card.)

If you are interested in adopting a cat, you can find our online adoption application at our website - On the side of the page there is a section labeled Quick Adoption Links. Click on the link for application to adopt a House Cat. Click on this link, fill out this short form, and be sure to click Submit at the bottom. One of our Adoption Reps will then contact you within a couple of days to guide you through the adoption process.

Alternately you can complete a paper application at Petsmart when we have SCB volunteers present (see times for adoption showings). Questions - email us at: We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.
