Colt has quickly become a well-mannered boy due to his natural desire to please his people and his involvement in APA's Canine Good Citizen program where he has learned basic obedience skills. He would make a great walking buddy since he does well on the leash.
If you take him by water, he will dive in happily. He will look back at you with those innocent eyes thanking you for the swim.
Colt loves all people but needs to be the only dog in the home. Sadly, he arrived at Austin Animal Center emaciated and with hundreds of old wounds and deserves his own safe place now.
This adorable guy will be a fun lower-maintenance companion to the right family for years to come. Don't forget that APA's behavioral team will be available to help with any questions after he joins your family. Plus, remember that when you adopt Colt you'll also let us free up space so that another dog can join us at APA!
