This poor little baby girl Ebony who is just 3 months old, came into the high-kill shelter with a terrible case of mange, and was suffering terribly. Alone, and ... scared she was huddled in the back of a cold metal cage, not knowing what her fate would be. We were alerted to her late last night, and we had her rushed to our emergency vet for immediate care. Well, we have some very bad news. We just received a phone call that on top of her mange, she has the deadly parvo virus. Many dogs and puppies are able to overcome parvo, with supportive care and IV fluids. What makes Ebony's case worse, is her immune system is very weak, due to her skin condition.
She is now at the emergency vet receiving blood transfusions, of new blood to help flush out the parvo virus. This care is extremely expensive for us, and we have so many critical cases right now.
Please consider making a donation for little Ebony, she is just a baby, and she deserves to live and know what love is. Go to www.nycsecondchancerescue.org/donate to help her survive.
