My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Delilah, a 13 year old Chow Chow (mix?). Delilah was found a year ago by some friends of a HP volunteer. Delilah was lying on the sidewalk and very lethargic. Once in the care of HP, Delilah was diagnosed with Cushings Disease. Without medication, Delilah cannot regulate her food and water intake, so daily medication is a must for her. There was an immediate difference in Delilah's water and food desires once she started medication. She is much, much happier because she doesn't have a constant need to eat and drink! Delilah also take a mild pain medication semi regularly to help with arthritis in her rear. Delilah LOVES attention and to be petted. Delilah has started "chasing" cats and will chomp at them; she has yet to actually bite one as they are much quicker than she, but it's something to be aware of if you have senior cats that don't move quickly. Delilah sometimes needs assistance getting in and out of the house depending on how her arthritis is. She definitely needs help getting in and out of cars and bathtubs. She currently gets groomed every 3 months. This includes a good brush-out and her paws and nails trimmed. On another note, Delilah is not used to being alone as her foster home is filled with cats, dogs and humans.

Delilah is spayed, micro chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $100.00. If interested in adopting her, please fill out our Adoption Application on our website (posted below).
