Those sad eyes come with a sad story, but a happy ending. Lelinda was trapped in a colony and brought to the OAR clinic to be spayed and returned. However, while in her cage, she delivered 5 kittens. No TNR for her. Mama and all kittens immediately went into foster care, but Lelinda was quite ill and couldn’t take the best care of her babies. Sadly, four were lost; the fifth one ended up having to be bottle fed. With lots of loving care, Lelinda is now all healthy and ready to find a wonderful, happy home. When you first meet her, she may seem a tad timid, but give her some loving pets and chin scratching, and she will warm right up. Her foster mom says she is very sweet, and will jump on your lap or lay beside you to let you pet her. She has a quiet little purr that gets stronger the more you love on her. She has that gorgeous brown tabby fur coat accessorized by four white paws. In her foster home she was good with children, but we are not sure how she would do with dogs. Please come to visit Lelinda if you are looking for a nice young furball who has a gentle soul, and sad eyes that will melt your heart...

Our Adoption Process...

We have many cats and kittens looking for wonderful homes! All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50. Because we like for our cats to go home in pairs, we have a standing 2 for 1 adoption special -- you can adopt 2 cats for one fee of $50.

Meet some of our cats and kittens, and fill out an application today! An OAR representative will get in touch with you to discuss your application. We do require a phone screening before an adoption so if you are coming to visit the cats and hope to take a cat or kitten home that day, fill out and submit the application at least a day beforehand so we can pre-approve your adoption.

As of 3/7/12, our adoption policy requires that the adopters of our cats not declaw the cats, no matter what the cat's age. We will, with our adoption counselors' help, provide potential adopters with information on alternatives to declawing. We also sometimes have previously declawed cats up for adoption. These can be a good alternative for adopters who are adamant about declawing.
