ATLAS ~12 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Good with seniors/elderly. Apartment appropriate. Not good with cats.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
Atlas is a big, loving fellow. He has not met a stranger yet. If you stop and pet him he will be your friend for life. Unfortunately, Atlas has very bad hips which do require daily medication. Since Atlas's arrival he has shown a lot of improvement but is still not going to be up for long walks. We do take several short walks a day (short walk being down the driveway and to the stop sign a half a block away). Atlas will play with my other dogs and does well also with my small dog. He has been around puppies also. I am not sure how Atlas will do with cats. There are 2 cats in the house who avoid close contact with him. When he sees them he does bark. The cats have figured out that Atlas can't get them so they sit a distance away to annoy him. Atlas has seen cats outside and I think if he were capable of chasing them he would. I am not sure what he would do with them if he caught them. Atlas is not able to wag his tail but makes the best faces when he is happy! We love looking at his face when he gets excited about something. He will also start doing this "dance" when it is time to eat. We call it the dinner dance. If you are looking for an older, laid back gentleman to be in your life then look no further. Atlas is your guy!
