Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a nearly 2 year old Plott Hound/Great Dane mix. She is a large, beautiful girl who loves to play. A spacious back yard and an active life style would suite her best. Lucy walks well on the leash but gets distracted very easily, so she needs a strong handler who is willing to work with her. She is a quick learner and knows her basic commands of sit, down, and shake. Lucy can be reactive to other dogs, doesn’t like cats, and has issues with people taking her things. However, with a few training sessions and some love, patience, and lots of treats, she can be easily redirected and trained. Two complimentary training sessions with Allison at Clever Paws USA will be an included and required part of the adoption process for this beauty. Lucy is a wonderful girl, with lots of love to give to her family, and she is more than ready to go to her new home.

If you want to apply for Lucy, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Meridian Great Dane/Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Plott Hound for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Great Dane/Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Plott Hound breeders who help with Great Dane/Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
