Ever thought about venturing into the world of dog sports & agility? Then Rikku's your girl! Rikku is an extremely bright and athletic 1 ½ year old Boxer-Hound mix. This active girl is no couch potato—she loves to play and learn new things alongside her person.
Rikku is currently enrolled in 2nd level agility training and that's where she definitely shines and appears most happy and engaged. Working with her during agility class is amazingly fun, and you get the sense that she would like nothing more than to become the next American Ninja Warrior! The perfect home for Rikku would be one that would continue to provide this outlet for her energy and natural talents.
She will also require a fenced yard to ensure that she gets properly exercised. The best workout for her is 30 solid minutes of playing fetch--and the more challenging the better--we've seen some areal gymnastics from this girl all for the sake of catching a ball in mid-air. According to her trainers, she shows the potential to be a great Frisbee dog. :)
Rikku is dog friendly, walks great on the leash, and is currently enrolled in intermediate obedience. She is extremely eager to please and learns quickly. Being an enthusiastic girl, the right adopter will be one that will reinforce her training so that she always demonstrates good doggie manners. Given her energy-level, she would be best-suited for a home with older children. She is both house and crate trained.
