My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DEXTER is a 3 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 70 pounds. Dexter is a sweet, but enthusiastic guy that loves to run and play! He is very affectionate and gave his transporter several wet willies. Dexter likes to give "hugs" too. He is house trained and crate trained and a great rider. Dexter loves other dogs. More on Dexter as we get to know him. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Dexter is approved for townhomes and cats!! Dexter has been approved for townhomes since he isn't much of a barker and may have even been de-barked at some point because his bark is more of a squeak. He also does fine on stairs, although he kind of bunnyhops going down. Everybody will be happiest if his new owner has a plan to ensure he has plenty of exercise. While he hasn't gotten into any trouble, he does enjoy running in his yard with his two foster buddies.
He totally ignored our cats and played the "if I don't look at you, you aren't there" - even while one of the cats was hissing at him. Although noisy, the cats weren't running around, and we didn't dare inconvenience them by trying to get them to be active, so we don't know if a cat on the run would interest Dexter. Dexter is wonderful in the car and doesn't pull too much on a leash. He loves new experiences and meeting new people. He will need training- his favorite evil thing to do is climb/jump on you to sneak a hug, and sometimes he hugs your legs. He does sit nicely and is very food motivated, so it should not be a struggle to teach him the manners he needs.
He had his first course of treatment for an ear infection and will need another treatment around 12/5, which can be scheduled at any one of Lab Rescue's participating vets if he is adopted before then.
