Skipper's Story...
Skipper is a wonderful, joyous puppy! He is about 6 months old and very playful! He is still working on his potty training, but does very well in a crate. He will willing crate himself when offered a treat. He loves to play with dog toys.. Especially anything that squeeks! He also LOVES to play fetch & adores his tennis balls. He is full of life and energy.. He loves to run and play, play, play. Then he crashes and wants nothing more than to snuggle up next to his people or doggy brothers/sisters. He gets along great with other dogs! This guy is fantastic & very smart. He learned how to use a doggy door in less than a day and has mastered the command "sit." He is a little jumpy still, as he does tend to jump up on people for attention, but this boy is extremely food motivated which should make training a breeze. Email info@forrescue.net.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skipper, a Homewood Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
