Oliver (Ollie)'s Story...
Up for adoption in Texas and New England-- ohhh you're going to love Ollie!!

Instant best friend... just add cookies! Oliver ("Ollie") is a soft, beautiful, long-legged lab/hound? mix, about one-year-old and 50 pounds. Ollie was hiding a secret behind his timid demeanor; he is shy at first, but quickly becomes an amazing companion!

He's so smart, gentle, loving and cuddly; playful but far from hyper; loves other dogs and merely curious about cats; adoring but not needy; not destructive. Small children make him nervous so he probably needs a home with older kids (he adores his foster mom's teenager). He's house and crate trained, fully vetted and micro-chipped.

He is a big goofy sweet boy that thinks he is a lap dog. He can be a bit shy with new people, but he warms up quickly with food and dog biscuits. He is not aggressive at all toward other dogs and loves to play. He does have a high prey drive with squirrels in the backyard, and he is very athletic.

Ollie is kennel trained, understands the "no" and the "sit" commands and picks things up quickly. With the proper love and care, sprinkled with a dose of patience, he will be a loving companion for many years to come.

He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oliver (Ollie), a Austin Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
