Facts about Zef

  • Breed: Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
**Zef is currently being fostered in Houston. He is available for out-of-state adoption to the perfect forever family! Unfortunately, meeting Zef in person prior to his adoption will not be possible. His adoption fee is $500, which will cover her transport to his new home and he is of course fully vetted. Because the flights are so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable. **

Zef was spotted one day running down an 8 lane highway. Clearly, this was no place for a tiny little man to be out and about. His Guardian Angel saw him almost get hit by the car in front of her, stopped, flung open her door, Zef jumped in, and the rest is history! Zef has been cared for by his amazing foster mom and savior since that day, but he is ready now to find a forever family all his own.

Zef is a roughly 2-3 year old terrier mix. While we are not sure what exactly his breed mix is, we do know it is ADORABLE! He is a small guy weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds. He is full grown and will not get any bigger.

Zef currently lives with some other furry siblings and he loves to run and play with them. He is a happy guy who will dance circles around you when you come home. What a way to be greeted every day! Zef would make the perfect addition to any living situation or family dynamic.

Zef will be a great match for anyone looking to add a little BDF (best dog friend) to their life! Zef should be adopted by a family who plans to keep him as an inside dog and not planning to leave him alone unattended for extend periods of time outdoors (for example the entire work day).

Zef is house and kennel trained, but his new family should understand that dogs can take a few weeks to acclimate to their new homes and environments. This may include having accidents, crying in his kennel, and getting into things he shouldn't. He should be adopted by a family who is willing to give her the time she needs to acclimate and use positive reinforcement during the process.

Zef is fully vetted and healthy (shots, neutered, microchipped, and dewormed). He is heartworm negative and has no known health/allergy concerns.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application which can be found on our website www.reggiesfriends.org. If you hover over the “adoptables” tab, the application will appear for you.
Our team processes applications within 5 business days of receipt and we can usually have adoptions finalized within 7-10 days. Adopters should be in a position to pay the adoption fee and take possession of the dog within 14 days of application.

If you have questions about Zef, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.

Our Adoption Process...

All Reggie's Friends dogs are located in Houston TX and all of our adoptions are out-of-state. This means that the dogs cannot be met prior to adoption. While unconventional, it is the best way we have figured out how to save dogs suffering in Houston. We have finalized over 300 out-of-state adoptions in the past two years.

The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application on our website www.reggiesfriends.org - hovering over the Adoptables tab will bring up the application link. Following the application, we will conduct a reference and vet check and then set a time for a video chat via Facetime or Skype in order for potential adopters to "meet" the dog and us. We have found great success in conducting our adoptions in this manner and look forward to much success in the future!
