6-8 year old, Spayed Female, Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Mix, 50 lb
Sydney is a mixed breed dog, approximately 6-8 years old. She is 50lbs. We really have no idea on her lineage, and are just going out on a limb with guessing Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Mix (she refuses to tell us who her parents were -- apparently it's a guarded family secret, or maybe her life has been threatened and she thinks she's in a witness protection program......we aren't sure). At any rate, she and several other dogs were rescued and divided into foster homes around a year ago when their owner had to move out of state to take care of an elderly parent. (Things happen in life, and we aren't judging). Sydney has been in foster care since that time. Her foster parents had originally hoped to keep Sydney with them, but she and their dominant female dog just can't get along. So we are working to find Sydney an appropriate forever home to suit her!
Sydney is a very loyal and sensitive dog she loves to be with you and is definitely a house dog. Her perfect home would be with a female owner (she responds best with female leadership in the home), a home without other dogs or cats, a large fenced in yard, and an active person that will take her on daily walks (she loves walks). She enjoys the company of some other dogs, but we feel that Sydney is best placed as an only dog in the home (she is a dominant female). She is well-mannered, comes when called, knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. She adores car rides and golf cart rides.......her favorite. She has not really been exposed to children at her current foster home. She can be standoffish to new people, but then seems to warm up quickly to newcomers as she realizes they are okay! She will sit by your side all day and keep you company. She is a love bug!! Her adoption fee is only $200, because we want her to have her forever home soon!
