Rosalie is an 18 mos old staffy mix surrendered  by her owner who no longer wanted her. She was terrified initially but has warmed up beautifully. We know Rosalie had a rough past as she was used only as a breeder dog, but she has a heart of gold. She adores the children in her foster home and she gets along with her canine foster brothers and sisters wonderfully. Rosalie will run and play outside and then she will come inside and relax with the family.  She is the best of both worlds.  She loves to curl up and take naps on your lap, yes she thinks she is a lap dog and we haven't had the heart to tell her otherwise. She loves belly rubs and giving kisses.

Rosalie is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She is current on monthly heartworm preventative and flea preventative and has tested heartworm negative.

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

** Local adoptions preferred (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.

About Pet Adoption Services, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Adoption Services, Inc. is a non-profit all breed cat and dog rescue organization in New Orleans. Supported by over 20 volunteer members, Pet Adoption Services was founded in 1996, although some of our members have been involved in rescue for over 20 years. Our mission is to secure loving permanent homes for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and dogs of all breeds. While awaiting adoption, our animals live in the homes of one of our foster parents. During this time the animals receive any necessary veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccinations, spaying or neutering and heartworm treatment. Our experienced foster parents continually assess each pet's personality and temperament allowing us to place adoptable cats and dogs in just the right permanent home. Pet Adoption Services participates in adoption days during which time, potential adopters get the opportunity to meet and spend time with the animals in a "real life" situation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Because each of our rescues lives in the home of one of our fosterparents, arrangements will be made for the adopter to meet the pet in which they are interested. Also, PAS holds a monthly adoption day at the Petsmart on Veterans Blvd in Metairie.

Our Adoption Process...

The average adoption fee for dogs is $150, though some adoption fees may be occasionally lower or a bit higher. All animals offered for adoption are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative or undergoing treatment, up to date on vaccinations, treated for intestinal parasites, and microchipped. In addition to completing an adoption contract, potential adopters should be prepared to agree to a veterinarian reference check and home visit. A valid drivers license or state I.D. card is required. This simple yet thorough screening process allows us to place the right animal in your committed, loving home.
