Facts about Walter

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red (Mostly)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10811385

This handsome high achiever is Walter. Walter earned a lot of admirers at the cafe with his confidence and curiosity - interacting happily with guests of all ages and impressing us all with his easy-going independence. He loves to cozy up with his human friends, but he's no couch potato - he's engaged, attentive, and loves to play. Whether it's chasing a ribbon toy, getting back and head rubs, or adventuring on his own, Walter is always game and wants to follow your lead.

At 2 1/2 years old, he's on track to lose a few pounds with a balanced diet so he can continue to be healthy and playful throughout his lifetime. If you have a place in your home for a friend like Walter, he's great company and will appreciate yours even more.

Walter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is $50 to adopt.

About Cat Town

About Our Rescue Group...

Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) cat rescue organization based in Oakland, CA. Formed by volunteers of Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (Oakland's municipal shelter), our mission is to find homes for the cats least likely to be adopted from OAS because they can't handle the stress of the shelter environment. By getting these cats into foster homes, they can relax and show their true personalities to potential adopters. We focus on older semi-feral kittens, stressed, shy or undersocialized cats, and cats who are older and/or have special needs. We are a relatively new organization and are all-volunteer run. We operate on a shoestring budget so can always use financial donations, as well as food, litter and other supplies. We are always looking for great foster homes and volunteers for everything that we do. Helping these vulnerable cats is pure joy! Please contact us at info@cattownoakland.org to get involved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, but some are in surrounding cities. Our fosters are generally very flexible about scheduling cat introductions.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, or other nearby cities. We will talk to you by phone to make sure the cat sounds like a good fit for your home before setting up an introduction in the foster home. We have a pretty straightforward adoption application, which you will be asked to complete only after you have met a cat who you want to adopt. Our adoption fees for kittens and cats up to age 7 are $50 for a single cat or $75 for pair; cats age 8 an older are $35 for a single cat or $50 for a pair. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations and microchipped. Cats age six months or older are tested for FIV/FeLV.
