Hi! My name is Hugo … but my friends call me Huey! And my foster mommy calls me a lovable, snuggle-bug.

I’m only about 5 months old so I’m still trying to figure out what I like to do. So far, I’ve figured out that I love to play! I love to play with other dogs and kids and toys. My canine foster sister and brother are older and bigger than I am (I’m only 29 pounds) so they always win when we wrestle but I’m starting to figure it out. They are really good at teaching me how play tug-of-war and how to chew squeaky toys. I’m having so much fun!

Since I’m still trying to figure out what I like to do, I’m pretty curious. I love to sit back and watch everything. I’m a sweet, very gentle guy; not a typical energetic puppy. And I don’t chew on anything other than my toys. Oh, did I mention that I don’t jump on people? What can I say? I’m very polite!

I’ve also figured out that I love to eat! I surprised my foster family because I will eat as much as the bigger dogs! And don’t get me started with treats. Yummy!!! My foster family is using treats to teach me to do things like sit and lay down and go potty outside. I’m working on those things and making progress every day.

I also love to go for walks. And I’m really good at going for walks because I don’t pull much. Sometimes I forget and pull a little but then I remember my manners and will stop pulling.

One of my most favorite things to do is to snuggle. I will fall asleep in your arms or snuggled up next to you. All you have to do is pet me and I’ll curl up next to you and fall asleep.

Most of all, I would love a family of my own that I can love and that will love me right back. So, if you think I might make a good addition to your family please let the people at Dogworks know by going to www.dogworksohio.com and filling out an application. There’s no cost and no obligation to fill out an application. However, there is a small adoption fee of $175 to help cover the cost of my vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, etc. which are all done!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Meet & Greets occur in the Toledo area each month. Check our website (www.DogworksOhio.com) for the dates of upcoming Meet & Greets. You may email us (Dogworksohio1@gmail.com) to see if the dog you are interested in will be at our next Meet & Greet. You can also make an appointment to meet any of dogs after an application has been submitted and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

Dogworks strives to place dogs into permanent homes based on the dogs' personalities and yours. To adopt a dog, we require a completed application, signed adoption contract, and home visit.

Adoption applications are available on our website (www.dogworksohio.com) and at all Meet & Greets. Once your application has been submitted, we will contact your references and consider suitability. You will be contacted by phone or email, typically within 4 business days, to discuss arrangements for adoption contract and home visit.

Adoption fees are variable (typically $125-$250) and are listed with the description of each dog. Adoption fee will be refunded if you decide that the dog is not compatible with your family within 2 weeks.

Adopted dogs must be returned to Dogworks in the event that they can no longer remain a member of your household for any reason.

All dogs have been updated on vaccines and tested for heartworm prior to adoption. Adult dogs and puppies older than 14 weeks are spayed/neutered. Adopters of younger puppies are required to sign an agreement to complete spay/neuter by 6 months of age. We will assist with spay/neuter costs. Adopters will receive a copy of medical records.
