Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beautiful Roxie Needs a New, Loving Family
5-year-old female, medium, black, red and tan German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: Upon proper introduction
Good with children: Unknown
Good with cats: Unknown
Poor Roxie. Due to a change in circumstances, her family of five years could no longer keep her. This girl
is a true sweetheart, but is understandably anxious after losing the family she’s held so precious.
Roxie absolutely loves belly rubs. She will roll right over for a rub anytime you’re near and her foster
reports that she has a very sweet disposition and loves people. She is learning to live with a pack at her
foster home; it appears she hasn’t been around other dogs much. But she’s learning to be respectful of
the pack and fitting in nicely.
Her fosters report that Roxie has some separation anxiety, but they are working with her. They also said
she can be a runner, so a fenced yard with secure gates and door locks is very important. Roxie is
housebroken and crate-trained and really enjoys the security of her crate, so that is a must in her new
home to make her feel safe.
Roxie already knows several commands, including sit, wait, heel and down. She’s a super smart gal. And
with time and love, she should get over her anxiety. Wouldn’t you be anxious if you lost your family?
Roxie is a sweet, loving girl that wants nothing more than to take care of her family and get frequent
belly rubs. Can you help her out?
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our

to get the
approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff
members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and
full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5
days to process an application.
