Hi, my name is Sparrow! I'm an enthusiastic and fun-loving dog.  I love my medium-sized foster sister dog, Duckie - see us snuggling together.  But I'm not fond of cats or other small animals, and tend to want to chase them.  I'm truly an outdoor dog and will love if you have a fenced-in backyard, although I have enough hops to jump over 4 ft fences - fair warning!  I am also a professional cuddler.  When I want your attention, I will likely gently paw you until you pet and cuddle me.  My fur is so soft and luxurious, and I would love to get brushed every couple of days!

I'm getting the hang of walking on leash without pulling thanks to the use of my EasyWalk front-facing harness.  I'm also getting much better about being quiet when strangers enter the house (as long as you give me the command with treats at the ready!), but my nature tells me I need to be afraid, so I'm used to barking really loudly and staying far away from strangers.  On the upside of that, when I've had three days to get to know you, I'm loyal forever!

I love hiking and running around!  I see humans as play companions, too, so feel free to run around with me, but I may get excited and nip at your pant legs like I nip at the heels of my canine friends.  I'm excellent at being in rooms alone and won't get into much trouble.  I'm a fast learner, especially when treats are involved, but it may take a while to unlearn some of my older habits.  My hobbies include staring out windows, whining at cats I can't get to, bringing you your socks that I found on the floor, chewing on bones, playing with my foster sister and cuddling with you.  Please contact my foster mom today to learn more!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
