Flynn's Story...
Flynn has a truly amazing story. He was brought to San Antonio ACS in early October with severe injuries to his head and neck. We don't know what happened to him, but he was in really bad shape. The tissue was necrotic and infection had set in to his liver and kidneys. He wouldn't eat and it looked like he was not going to make it.

After about two weeks of uncertainty about his fate, he decided to start fighting for his life! Flynn spent five weeks of intensive care at Vet Ranch New Braunfels. His wounds were cleaned and dressed, he was on IV antibiotics and fluids, and both of his ears had to be amputated.

He has made a full recovery, though the scars from his horrific injuries will remain as a reminder of what happened to him. He doesn't let that affect his personality though. He is a sweet, loving, happy pup that just wants to please his people! He knows "sit" and is kennel and house trained. He has never had an accident inside. He's a big boy- about 45 pounds and will probably gain another 10-15. We aren't sure exactly what he's mixed with but he's definitely got some Dane, pointer and maybe some boxer in there.

Flynn is great with cats, dogs and people. He's the perfect pet. He's neutered, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150. If you'd like to meet Flynn, send us a message!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flynn, a San Antonio Great Dane/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Pointer for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Great Dane/Pointer dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Pointer breeders who help with Great Dane/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
