Homer's Story...
Homer, an adorable five year old Doxie. He was rescued off the street of downtown LA, with a broken leg. His leg is now healed, after surgery, and this is a sweet little guy with a great personality is ready for his forever home! He is a happy boy with a great mix of calm and fun and will sneak into your heart before you know it! He is in a foster home with dogs, cats, kids, and men and seems to love everyone! He doesn't show much interaction yet with the other dogs and he seems to be fine around them but he isn't that playful. His true love will always be people and he will climb his way into your lap and snuggle with you to the point where you can't move but it seems to make him feel secure and cozy. He seems to be potty trained with outdoor access. He is not much of a barker but will alert you when someone is at the door. We are looking for a calm, non-chaotic environment. He would love to go to a home where his humans are around a lot to give him all the attention and love he deserves. Can you be that special forever home for Homer? Homer is neutered microchipped and current on vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Homer, a Santa Monica Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
