Nick's Story...
Nick is great kids, shows no anxiety towards his fosters very loud and active 7 year old and loves cuddling with her 9 year old. He is very playful and does a great job playing with her 5 month old puppy. Never rough or snappy with him. He calms right down around her very old dog. He needs some training (working on it!), he likes to jump up on people and stand next to you in the kitchen. However he listens well when you tell him off. He loves walks but lacks leash etiquette- He has a power nose and it takes over. He gets super excited when he sees a cat but his foster hasn't had him near hers yet. He goes into a kennel easily but doesn't enjoy it. Truly a fantastic dog that has so much love to give!

He's a 3-4 year old gsd mix. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in california where he was on death row. Please consider welcoming him into your home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nick, a Salem German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Salem, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
