Facts about Sarge

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10807273

Sarge is a 6 year old black & tan male that came into after the sudden death of his owner.  He was raised as a housedog and for the last few years had a female GSD as his companion.  He rode sitting in the front seat of his owners truck whenever he went into town.  Sarge has no real training, no leash work or obedience training but does want to please you for attention.  HE has never been socialized with other animals so I do not recommend small dogs or another male and did fence fight with the neighbor’s dogs but made no attempt to go over or under the 4’ fence.  He is missing the tip of his ear and was hit by a car as a puppy and had the femur removed and pins to repair the breaks but shows no issues from it now.  I do recommend he be on a supplement for joints for the rest of his life.

We recommend that he goes into a home with a female dog or a home with a retired person as he is used to being with someone all the time.  He has been very stressed this week with all the people coming in and out of the home and having been in the home for a day with his dead owner.

Sarge needs a TLC home and will become a good companion.

About Tampa Bay German Shepherd Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Mission Statement and Objective
To find loving forever homes for adoptable German Shepherd Dogs placed in shelters, strays and owner turn-ins. Provide needed medical care, training and rehabilitation to neglected, abused or sick German Shepherd Dogs until they are ready for adoption.

Who We Are
The TBGSR is an all volunteer non-profit pet rescue organization for German Shepherd Dogs. We are supported by private donations, adoption fees, fund raisers and bequests from individuals and businesses. All of our pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They are up-to-date on all vaccinations and heartworm negative. We are dedicated to helping our adoptable animals find good homes where they will be safe, well cared for and loved for the rest of their lives. Caring for these animals allows us to learn more about their personalities and helps us to place them in a home best suited for them.

Volunteers
Tampa Bay German Shepherd Rescue welcomes volunteers. If you are a fan of the GSD, we need your help. Please contact us & let us know how you'd like to assist us.

Foster Homes Needed
We are always in the need of foster homes to house dogs that are going though medical care while getting them ready for adoption. The more wonderful families willing to foster a dog, the more wonderful German Shepherds we can save.

Also when our shelter is full, this means we have to turn down worthy candidates and can not pull dogs from shelters because space is at such a premium. All dogs are spayed/neutered, wormed, treated for fleas, vaccinated and on heartworm preventative. We provide a crate, leash, collars and food.

If you have some time, a little patience and alot of love to spare, we need you to help make these guys good adoptable pets. PLEASE EMAIL US for more info.
