Facts about Lemmy

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Hubba hubba! This handsome boy needs a new forever family, as his original mom couldn't care from him due to being pregnant, and his current mom travels too much and he is alone too much. However, there is nothing wrong with this boy except he is your typical lab puppy! He is pretty big and needs some training, but he has grown up around cats and kids, and he loves other dogs. However, due to his size, he doesn't know his own strength and loves to play kind of rough, so we are asking for no small toddlers that can get knocked over by an overly happy, exuberant 75 lbs. puppy!

Lemmy is expected to get a little bigger as he is only 7 months old and currently 75 lbs. He is bouncy, playful, and lovable, and has never met a stranger. Lemmy loves everyone and has a zest for life typical of labs! He loves the water and would benefit by having either a very active owner (a jogger maybe?) or at least another big energetic dog with a lot of room to run and play.

Lemmy is neutered, microchipped, HW negative, and is currently on HW prevention. He is housebroken but he does have a few bad habits such as enjoying checking out what's on the counters in the kitchen. He can also be destructive when left alone, so he needs a patient, understanding owner who is familiar with lab puppies and their need for exercise and good training to keep their minds stimulated properly - a bored lab puppy is a recipe for disaster!

We are told Lemmy is a purebred Labrador retriever without papers. While we have no reason not to believe this, we make NO guarantees about breed or age estimates. What we do know is that this giant love-bug needs a family who will never again rehome him, and who will love him and train him and spoil him!

Interested adopters please email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Adopters subject to reference checks, vet reference, home visits, meet and greet. Adoption fee applies.

About MJ's Animal Sanctuary, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are currently not accepting any owner surrendered pets. We are a group of volunteers who go to high kill animal control facilities where mass gassing or heart sticking is used as euthanasia, and shelters where all animals are euthanized every week. We are finding that in this terrible economy, beloved pets and companions are paying a heavy price, and are being dumped off in droves at kill shelters or "the pound." The pound workers do not tell these owners that their pet only stands less than a 10% chance of being adopted and will be euthanized if not adopted within 3-5 days. Our volunteers go into the shelters, extensively temperament test all dogs we rescue, get them completely vetted, vaccinated, and sterilized, and then work tirelessly to find them suitable forever homes where they will never again know fear, neglect, abuse, or abandonment.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our pets are cared for in loving foster homes across many states

Our Adoption Process...

We accept fees for shots, deworming, neuter/spaying our animals. We are a non-profit group consisting entirely of volunteers that rescues animals from HIGH KILL SHELTERS. There are adoption papers to be filed and we will subject future pet owners to uphold contracts to provide good homes for our pets.

Currently all our companions are in foster homes, so a pre-screening/pre-approval process is necessary in order to go visit the pet you are interested in adopting. Adopters are subject to vet references, personal reference checks, home visit, and a meet and greet. There is an adoption fee to cover some of the costs as we do not adopt out any animal that has not been fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, all vaccines, heartworm test, etc.
