Calliope's Story...
Hi friends my name is Calliope! I arrived as a stray with my daughter Penelope. We arrived covered in fleas and were given a bath within the first 5 minutes of walking through the front door. After our bath we were snuggled in towels and once dry, treated for the fleas so we could be free of those nasty little buggers! We have been happily flee-free ever since. I am about 5 years old, and my daughter is about 4. After we were here for a few weeks, someone who used to know us called the shelter to let them know about how old we are, and that we are a bonded mother-daughter pair. We have been through a lot together and wish to find a new home where we can remain together. I am outgoing and spunky, whereas Penelope is more cautious and nervous. When I am by her side she is more outgoing and confident, so really we make the perfect pair!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calliope, a Menomonie Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Menomonie, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Menomonie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Menomonie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Menomonie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Menomonie paves the way for another one to be saved.
