Evangeline - Now Available!
special needs
2 year 6 month  old Female Catahoula Hound

I've been at ARC for 6 months and 12 days

Weight: 49.8 Pounds

My story:

This stunning beauty came to us through the cooperation of a shelter in Louisiana that was running out of space.  She is absolutely gorgeous, and has the most wonderful personality.  Evangeline is a little shy at first, but quickly warms up to you with a little time.  She doesn't appear to have a mean bone in her snuggly little body... She loves people, dogs and cats.  She does have a few medical challenges, though.  She is deaf, which only seems to make her more endearing.  She is also being treated for heartworms at this time, so she is not yet available for adoption.  We will update her bio as soon as she becomes available!

As heartworm treatment is a lengthy and expensive process when done properly, ARC can always use a little help towards medical costs.  Feel free to click the Sponsor link below to help out.  Every dollar counts!

Update!  Evangeline is now free of heartworms and is available for adoption.  She does require some Special Needs medications, though.  These would be discussed with any potential Foster/Adopter.

My ideal home:

Once available, I would be a sweet and loving companion in ANY home!

I'm good with:
Most Other Dogs
 Young Children
 Older Children

About Animal Refuge Center

About Our Shelter...

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
