For more than 35 years, the HSDC has worked to reduce the pet overpopulation problem, and alleviate animal suffering. We have educated the public about the needs of animals, and promoted laws that benefit animals. Over the years, we have saved the lives of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens, thereby working to reduce the serious problem of overpopulation. The Humane Society of Davidson County is a non-profit, no-kill volunteer organization dedicated to the welfare of animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are at Tractor Supply in Lexington, NC. every Saturday unless we have other special events to attend . We will announce on our Facebook page when we have adoption fairs.
Right now, we are raising money to build a Spay-Neuter Clinic/Animal Sanctuary- HSDC. We operate out of a shed on our property at 1114 Piedmont Dr. in Lexington, NC and volunteer's homes at present. If you want to schedule a meet and greet with our fosters, that is done through each individual foster. They will set up time and place to meet according to their schedule.
Our Adoption Process...
All pet adopters must fill out an application that includes a veterinary reference (if you already have a pet),a personal non-relative reference and drivers license number. Applications will be throughly checked. Also we require a fenced in yard, animals are preferably spay/neutered before adoption, if not a voucher is given with appointment to have procedure done with follow up procedures in place.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
