United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below.
Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.

A5011923 Franklin is an adorable 1-year-old red-and-tan male Chihuahua/Basenji mix puppy who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 14th as a stray from Duarte. 10-lb Franklin is very frightened at the shelter, but he’s as sweet as can be. He needs to be approached gently--his first impulse is to hide and watch his kennel mates to see if it’s safe--but he quickly warms up and wants to be held and snuggled. Once he relaxes in your arms, he is curious and affectionate. We couldn’t evaluate Franklin’s leash skills, because he was too overwhelmed to walk on leash. This cute little pup has wonderful auburn coloring and wide eyes. With time and puppy training, Franklin will make a wonderful indoor pet for anyone--and we think, given the way he looks to other dogs for leadership, he’d be a great companion for another dog.
