Gizmo's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Gizmo's Story...
This is Gizmo. We pulled him from a kill shelter in Chicago where he was brought in as a stray. We are unsure on his age, but he is probably not very old. He has the cutest little underbite you've ever seen. The shelter said he is a Shih tzu mix. He was shaved at the shelter because he was attacked by something while he was on the streets. The poor little guy was covered in scratches and bite marks.
Gizmo gets along with other dogs and children. He likes to play with toys and chew bully slices/sticks. He is already neutered and his foster mom is working on potty training. He does baby one of his back legs. He will have a full check by our vet on 11/23, and we will know then if there is something wrong with it.

**If interested please fill out an application on our website www.mendingheartsrescue.org and we can set up a time to meet them, as we are a foster based rescue**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gizmo, a Rockford Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Rockford, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Rockford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockford paves the way for another one to be saved.
