Gator's Story...
2/25/17 update: Gator is a bouncy, playful hound with just the best attitude. He loves to be pet but gets distracted easily- like most hounds. Gator seems to do well with some other dogs, but a meet and greet is required. This stunning boy has the softest ears in the business and just wants someone to snuggle with!

Gator is a very sweet (a relatively quiet) hound who seems to have a gentle nature. He loves to explore and will need a fenced in yard to make sure he doesn't go wandering off. This handsome hound seems to enjoy being with other large dogs, but a meet and greet is required if there are other dogs in the home. His coloring is striking and he has those extra soft hound ears that we all love. If you're in the market for a furrever friend, look no further! about 3 years old

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gator, a Martinsville Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
