Dexter's Story...
Meet Dexter! He is a 6 month old, male, black lab mix currently weighing 25 pounds. The vet is approximating his full grown weight at about 40 pounds. Dexter is such a sweet and lovable guy. He loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home and is great with kids too!

He is both crate and house trained and his foster mom says he one of the best behaved pups she's ever had (and she's had a lot!!) :) Send us a message so Dexter can meet his forever family soon!

An adoption fee of $250 includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventatives if appropriate, and all medical costs while in our care.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit our website and fill out an application online at www.familyadditiondogrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a Charlotte Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Charlotte, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Charlotte.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlotte already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlotte breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlotte paves the way for another one to be saved.
