JJ & Joey aren't biological brothers but have spent the past 4 years together in a home! They were both relinquished to the shelter when their mom was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Joey was rescued by his mom as a orphan kitten and has spent the past 12 years with her! He accepted his brother JJ with open arms 4 years ago--they enjoy playing with each other but aren't always together! Joey loves to be petted but due to his age he doesn't play a whole lot. He will bring several more years of love and joy to a new family! Joey was born 07/04/10!

About Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc

About Our Shelter...

Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc is a special needs, no-kill animal shelter that accepts unowned dogs/puppies and cats/kittens that are disabled, injured, neglected, pregnant, nursing and orphans requiring bottle feeding. Along with veterinary care, our army of caring volunteers nurse the animal back to health and when healthy we place the animal up for adoption. Our founding belief is that every animal deserves a loving home and should not be killed simply because they have been at the shelter too long.
We are a 501 (c)3 charitable organization and rely solely on donations. We receive no government funding.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption hours are Monday through Saturday 1 pm to 5 pm at the shelter. The shelter is located at 4521 SE 14th Street, Des Moines (between Mckinley and Watrous)

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee for adult dogs and cats is $100.00 and all animals are current on vaccines, have been spayed/neutered, wormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm and cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Puppies and Kittens are $125.00 and senior cats and dogs (7 years & older) is $50
All adopters must complete an adoption application. Visit our website for complete information on the adoption process and application. Website is www.animal-lifeline.com
