Hi! My name is George Clooney and I am a mature, silver fox! I am estimated to be around 9-10 years old and am a Walker Hound weighing about 75 pounds. I am a sweet old man and I do love to get loved on but when I am outside my nose is my guide. I love to sniff and explore like most Walker Hounds do!
I showed up at a barn last winter and decided it was a cool place to be. The owner of the barn contacted FHCS and asked if they could help find me, and another pregnant dog that wandered up to the barn, a foster home. My foster mom just so happens to love seniors and has a thing for hounds so she of course said yes! I have been with her for about a year now which is okay but I know there is a forever family for me out there somewhere!
I am somewhat dog friendly but because I am older and have some aging pains, I can be a little cranky with my foster brothers and sisters. I do not like large, dominant male dogs and I need to go to a cat free home because I am just too tempted to chase them. The funny thing is... even if I did chase them there is no way I could ever catch one because I am a slow mover! I have arthritis and am currently on glucosamine! I will need glucosamine for the remainder of my days and may require something stronger for the pain in the future. I am also semi-incontinent so my foster mom bought me a stylish belly wrap that prevents me from leaking around the house. It was a great solution for both of us since I hate leaking in the house!
My foster mom tells me I am the cutest old man and she adores my floppy ears! My foster mom's 8 year old niece and 10 year old nephew are so nice to me and I love it when they come to visit. They know I am not a young lad like I used to be so they are very gentle and loving when they rub me and play with me. I dream of hot dogs, comfy beds and a family to call my own. I am house trained (but I do leak) and crate trained. I like to take my foster mom for walks but she has figure out that an Easy Walk Harness works wonders for my pulling!
I am HW free which is a miracle. I am now neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. I have been dewormed and have previously been treated for bronchitis.
Do you love seniors? Could I be your forever companion?
