Meet Sullivan!  Sully is a 3 year old, 13 lb terrier mix and is one of the most easy going dogs ever!   He just goes with the flow.  Hardly barks and is house-trained.  I also have wee wee pads in house for my puppy that he will use too.  He is a very sweet boy who just wants to be your buddy.  He will lounge in bed with you for hours or has the energy to go out and run and play.  He LOVES people!  He was so excited at the vet and wanted to meet everyone he saw.  I have a puppy here who constantly wants to play with him and he tolerates the puppy extremely well.  He is very sweet with him.  He's never growled and gets along with all the dogs.  I haven't had him out on a leash to see how he is with leash walking or dogs in public but was fine with the other shelter dogs when I picked him up.  He is a terrier, so I can tell he's very interested in the cats and chickens, but listens when told to leave them alone and only occasionally tries to chase one.  He's also very smart!  He knows sit and with a short clicker training session he knew instantly what we wanted him to do and is VERY food motivated, so will be easily trained to do all sorts of behaviors and tricks.  And he hasn't barked much at all.  It took a week before I heard him bark at the door.  But he doesn't follow the other dogs barking at the fence..he'll just sit quietly in the house by my side and ignore them.  I really can't say enough great things about this sweet sweet boy!   He will be a very easy and loving dog for one lucky person or family!   So if you're looking for an awesome dog, Sully is your guy!  Sullivan is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $250.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.

About Second Chance Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Dog Rescue was formed to fulfill a desperate need in the community to Rescue, Rehabilitate & Re-home homeless dogs from the over-crowded local shelters, and from families who can no longer take care of their dogs (on a case-by-case basis only).

Our program is based on foster care, and all rescued dogs spend their first days at a loving foster home where they receive personalized care. As part of our program, we ensure that all dogs are vaccinated, are spayed or neutered, and have been socialized by their foster family. In addition, Second Chance Dog Rescue provides support for potential new owners and monitors progress for both new pet parents and their adopted dogs. This helps guarantee that our dogs go to good, loving, forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Visit our website at for a list of upcoming Adoption Events. Additionally, our foster parents may schedule one on one meetings with potential owners and provide a personalized adoption experience.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an Adoption Questionnaire to be completed - whether online or in person - before meeting any of our dogs. Upon approval of the Questionnaire, a potential adopter will be required to complete an Adoption Contract and pay adoption fees. All of our adoptions start with the first 2 weeks as a 'trial' period, to ensure the adoption is a good fit. Adoption of a puppy may require a refundable training deposit, which will be refunded upon completion of training with a Certfied dog trainer, and submission of certificate of completion to our office.
