We are currently accepting adoption applications for Anita. You can request an application by emailing Anita is a Red Ear Slider who is approximately 6 years old. Anita was very shy when she entered our program but her foster mom has been working very hard to get Anita to come out of her shell, literally! Anita is a very fast and spirited swimmer so she spends a lot of her time in the water but she also loves basking under her light. Anita is very gentle and will make a great family companion. Anita’s adoption fee is $40. Please be aware that we are not a "first come, first served" rescue. We will provide proof of veterinarian examination, any/all other vet records under our care, and an information/care guide. General Semi Aquatic Turtle Information: Average Lifespan: Longer than 20 years if cared for properly. Activity Time: They are diurnal which means they are most active during the day. Average Adult Size: Full grown, healthy adults can reach 5 to 12 inches. Habitat: Anita has been in a 100 gallon tank for most of her life; her future family will need to provide her a tank just as large.

About Our Rescue Group...

Little Lives Matter Small Animal Rescue is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization located in Tri-Cities, Washington. Our primary focus is on small animals such as rodents, reptiles, birds, etc.

We want to help our community as much as we can by rescuing small animals, reducing overpopulation, and educating the community on small animal care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We attend PetSmart adoption events at the PetSmart on Canal in Kennewick, Washington. We do not do on-site adoptions, but this is an opportunity to see our adoptable pets in order for you to decide if you would like to apply.

Our Adoption Process...

1. Request an adoption application by emailing (multiple page form requiring references, including a vet reference).
2. Home check. We are not a "first-come, first-served" rescue. We choose the best fitting home for that particular animal.
3. If the animal can safely be spayed/neutered, that will be done prior to adoption. Many small animals cannot be safely altered.
4. A signed adoption contract and adoption fee will be required at the time of adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on animal type.
5. A care guide, supply list, and veterinary contact information will be provided to the adopter at or before the time of adoption.
