Buzzy just wants to sniff and run. He likes to chase tennis balls, though he might not bring the ball back unless you throw another one. He is extremely loyal and a great dog, despite having some tough breaks in life.

First, he was given up as a puppy to the shelter, then he got adopted by a man who called him Bozo and put him outside in a nice pen. He didn’t come out to visit or play with him or let him come out of the pen to play. He became crazed with loneliness and longed for companionship.

A kind neighbor started taking him regularly for walks and to the dog park. She didn't like calling him Bozo, so he goes by Bozey or even Buzzy. (Heck, he really doesn't care what you call him, if you'll upgrade his home!)

With her help, Buzzy matured into a calmer dog and learned about love and companionship. He now lets her kiss his snout without jumping up to meet her face halfway, like he did when he was young and bored. This neighbor also got Buzzy's owners into crating him inside on extra cold evenings, so he IS crate-trained and should house train with very small effort.

The world is still fascinating and there are SO many things to smell, and wildlife to chase! Buzzy would love a yard to run in that is larger than his pen. Due to his isolation, he can be protective of his yard and wary of strangers. An adult-home who can adequately supervise him is recommended.

We would like this loving boy to finally have a home as indoor dog who is considered a true member of the family pack.

Age: 4 Years Old

Weight: 75 Pounds

Temperament: Gets along with dogs, but not cats; adult-home preferred

Training: Housetrained and crate-trained

Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative

About Doggie Harmony

About Our Rescue Group...

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Doggie Harmony is an approved non-profit (501c3) organization, so your donations are tax-deductible. If you would like donate, you may direct funds to our address below, or to our PayPal account at donate@doggieharmony.org.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Doggie Harmony does not hold regular adoption events, so watch our website for special events. We also encourage you to contact us about pets you may be interested is, as we are always willing to bring them to meet you.

We do not have a shelter, so we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

Our Adoption Process...

Those interested in our adoptable pets are asked to complete an application that will allow us to assess whether a particular pet is good fit for their household and lifestyle. If it is, we will then bring the pet to their home for a meeting. If all goes well, the adoption contract is initiated and a fee is collected, but held for two weeks to ensure the adoption is a success. Our fees vary depending on each pet and what has been invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.
