Shire is a sweet happy energetic young pit bull/boxer mix who lost his family, and nearly his life when his dad was arrested. Left behind by the police, Animal Control didn't come for 2 weeks for them. He arrived to animal control a virtual skeleton. He has had no problem gaining weight and is a healthy boy now! Shire has been in a foster home with a small grouchy terrier mix and has done fabulous! His foster mama has been teaching him many manners including sit, stay, come and off. Shire has done amazing with her elderly and frail foster Grandparents, and plays nicely with the 9 year old down the street. He doesn't like dogs that are much bigger than he is, but loves to play with dogs for as long as they will play chase. The only reason he continues to wait is that he is part Pit Bull and the discrimination this breed continues to face. Give him a chance. Meet him in person and then decide what kind of dog this boy is. Those of us that know him think he is pretty perfect. His forever family is going to be very lucky to have him join their family!
