Facts about Carter

  • Breed: Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Carter is a two year old Boxer mix with a gorgeous brindle coat and a always ready smile.

Our street team, who feeds stray and neglected dogs in a bad part of town, found him laying motionless in the middle of the road. Luckily, after calling out to him, he happily came limping down to greet our volunteer. Poor Carter was malnourished and he had an injured knee. Yet, he was as sweet as sugar and just couldn’t believe his luck, someone finally noticed him and filled up his tummy with delicious food.

Carter is currently boarded at a home-based facility and has adjusted nicely. He had surgery to repair his knee and his leg has healed. He gained a few pounds, gotten rid of fleas and worms, and now he just won’t stop smiling! Carter is clearly pleased with his new life. He makes friends easily with humans (little ones included), other dogs and cats alike. He keeps his kennel clean, knows basic commands and is eager to please.

Our sunshine is ready to put a smile on your face. He is eager to find his very own happy ending and he deserves one after living life of a neglected street dog. Humans may have failed him in his first years of life but he promises he won’t fail you.

**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175.

We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters.

The adoption fee of $200 covers neuter, microchip and current vaccines.

Please apply to adopt or foster Carter online at www.corridorrescue.org.

About Corridor Rescue, Inc. - Portland Transport

About Our Rescue Group...

Corridor Rescue Inc. is an all-breed 501(c)(3) non-profit street dog rescue on a mission of mercy, rescue and awareness -- a mission to save lives and correct an injustice to animals who have been thrown away and left to fend for themselves in an area in Houston dubbed the "Corridor of Cruelty." Here, trash and animals are discarded without thought on a regular basis. We're not talking about a handful of animals, but hundreds of animals fighting to simply survive another day.

Founded by one person, Corridor Rescue has grown its team of volunteers, from all walks of life, united in an effort to help this community of orphaned animals in desperate need of help. We work to rescue hard to capture dogs and cats, to rescue and rehabilitate diseased and injured dogs, to facilitate the rescue of animals mainly from the Corridor of Cruelty but also from other areas of Houston, and to educate about spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws.

Success happens on the streets every day, yet we know that our fight is far from over.
