Liam's Story...
Hello, my name is Liam. I am about 4 years old and I am a Rottie mix. I’m not sure what I am mixed but I have the coloring of a Rottie, the look of Rott but I’m not as big. I was found at a high-kill shelter in Missouri. It was believed I was used for backyard breeding and when I could no longer be the Daddy for Rottie puppies they dumped me at a shelter. But I was definitely someone’s dog because I know lots of commands, tricks and I am very obedient. It’s possible when I was fed I had to fend for myself or was given my food with a bunch of dogs because in the beginning of me being at my foster home, where I am now, I was very protective of my food. But now that I have been here for a while I know that my food is not going to be taken away and I don’t have to scramble for it or guard it. But my foster Mom is smart – she also feeds me in my crate away from the other dogs that live here. In my foster home there are lots of dogs here and I get along with all of them plus the cats. I like all the tricks my foster Mom has taught me. I make her laugh with all the tricks I can do. One of my favorite tricks is I can smile. It looks like I am growling/snarling but I am smiling. Picture Elvis doing his sneer – that’s me … smiling. Maybe I was a dog model at my old home. I’m not sure what I am mixed but I have the coloring of a Rottie, the look of Rott but I’m not as big. When I 1st came to my foster home I was really skinny. You can see my ribs and my hips. My foster Mom had to put some weight on me. She put me on this raw diet to help me gain weight; oooh I like that and she also tried a grain free diet to help my fur. That really helped my fur. When I went off the grain free my fur got flakey again so when I go to my next home I will need to stay on a grain free diet. My foster Mom can help you on that and she knows all about that because she has a store that has products for dogs like me. I am also house trained and don’t mind my crate. I really would like to have a forever home of my own. Someone who would take care of me and I can show you all my tricks. Would you like to meet me? My foster Mom says when you do you’ll meet the most amazing dog on the planet!! All you got to do is fill out an adoption application? Thanks, Liam

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liam, a Palatine Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
