With sailboat ears, and a sweet demeanor, 11 month old Liv is sure to capture anyone's heart.  Liv was rescued off of death row in Manhattan.   We were told she was living on the streets before being picked up by animal control officers.

How could anyone leave a baby behind to fend for themselves on the city streets?  Despite a rough past for this gentle baby, she is a true companion.

Her foster mom says, "she loves to play, prance and cuddle."  Liv is crate trained and house broken.  She does well with her foster kitty siblings and knows basic commands like "sit" and "kisses".

Liv walks well on leash, and has been around other dogs on walks and greets them with a vigorous tail wag.  Liv is tiny in size, about 40 lbs and not expected to get much bigger.

About Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

Our Adoption Process...

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.
