My name is Clyde, I'm about the most loving and young at heart 8 year old lab mix you'll meet. I am completely house broken and know basic commands like sit and down. I am absolutely great with other dogs and people, even kids. Although sometimes I think kids toys are mine when they are carrying them around, because of this I would probably do better with older children. I do not like cats and can not be in a home with them. I'm not crate trained and don't need to be as I have really good manners and can be trusted left alone in the house as long as there is no people food in my reach. I'd probably do best in a home with another dog so I don't have to be alone but would be just fine on my own as well. I don't want to run away, you want to do yard work in the front yard, I'm right there with ya and not leaving your sight!!

I have a bit of nervous energy which I like to take out on playing fetch, I need a little structure with it because if not I'd play all day long. I'd be best in a home where I will be exercised. I love going into the mountains and swimming! I am not terrible on a leash but do need some training with it. However I want to learn. My back legs are a little stiff, the vet says more then likely it's lower back pain and eventually I will need to be put on pain meds. All I want in life is someone to love me and be kind to me. I also have a lot of love to give.If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at www.caws.org.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
