Arnold's Story...
Male
Hound mix
Approximately 10 months old
Great with other dogs
Good with cats
Nervous with teenager he met
Arnold came to us when his time was up at the pound. We scrambled to find a foster home for him and luckily we were successful! He’s doing SO well in his foster home. He adores their dog and is very respectful of their cats, even when they hiss at him! Arnold is just a giant puppy. He has lots of energy and loves to go for walks and play fetch. He’s extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle with his foster mom and dad and his doggie foster brother. Arnold did meet a very nice teenage boy and he was extremely scared of him so we believe he might have been treated badly by a teenager at some point in his young life. We are not requiring a home without children for him because we truly believe he just needs to learn to trust, so a home with older kids that can participate in his training and rehabilitation to help him feel secure would be fine. Please email kenwayscause@aol.com if interested!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arnold, a Hartford Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Hartford, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
