Facts about Petey

  • Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Petey is a survivor! He was brought to us by Animal Control because a Good Samaritan had seen him for several days on her mail route with a huge gash on the side of his neck. In addition he was not using his right back leg. After the owner did not want to reclaim Pete, we took him into our adoption program. His gash has totally healed up but he still does not have much use of his back leg. We discovered that his leg was broken in June of 2016 and his previous owner did not follow up with the appropriate care from his veterinarian. While we have contemplated removing the leg we really hate to put Petey through an amputation and the recovery time and pain associated with the surgery. His leg does not cause him any pain and he does not drag it. In fact one of the things that he does that is kind of cute is he kind of throws it out to the side when he runs! Petey is super sweet and loves attention. We want him to have the kind of home he deserves where he will be an inside pup and showered with attention. He will make a great family pup.

If you are interested in this pup, please visit our website at www.tysorvet.net and click on the adoption tab where you will find a link to our adoption application. Be sure and fill in every field or the application will not send. You can use n/a, etc. for questions that do not pertain to your situation. Our adoption fee is $150 which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations up to the date of adoption, heartworm test, worming, and microchip.

About Tysor Veterinary Clinic

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small veterinary practice located in a small town in a rural county in North Carolina. We have animals that are brought in as strays, owner surrendered, and brought to us by animal control when they have been picked up and are injured. We feel that every animals' life is worth saving and to the extent that we have room we accept these animals into our adoption program. Our staff work as a team and we are like family. We all work together to provide the best care for each animal and to treat each pet as if it were our own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoptable animals are located at our clinic and our adoption building next door to our clinic. We are usually very busy in both buildings first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon with feeding, walking, and generally taking care of our adoptable animals. While you can come any time to visit the quietest time of the day is usually from around noon to 3:30pm.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for most dogs is $150 and the adoption fee for most cats is $100. However, we sometimes have higher fees if we have information that a dog or cat is purebred. While we are happy to have you come and visit our adoptable animals at any time we would encourage you to fill our an application before you make the trip and to also check us about the best time to come to our facility. You can access our adoption application at our website, www.tysorvet.net. Go to the adoption tab and you will see the adoption application. We will check your previous and/or current vet reference as well as a personal reference. If you are approved and adopt an animal from us you will be asked to sign an adoption contract. If you adopt out an animal that is too young to be spayed/neutered we may require that you pay a deposit that will be refunded at the time of surgery.
