Dusty's Story...
Dusty is a 5 year old little silky haired terrier that would just love to go to a wonderful home, where he belongs. He came to us from our Newark facility after he was turned in because his family was moving and couldn't take him along. When Dusty arrived, we really didn't know what to make of him. He was completely frozen with fear. The poor guy seemed to never have been out of his element before and he was just so shy and scared. With a little TLC and patience, Dusty has blossomed into a sweet and loving little guy and he is really letting his true personality show now. Dusty was a bit overgrown and neglected when he arrived. He actually has long, silky, two-toned hair but unfortunately, that all had to come off due to severe matting. Wait till you see him when it all grows in! In the meantime, his personality is just beautiful, so that's all that matters. He's a great little guy that is curious and happy to explore his new surroundings. He makes friends easily and has a warm, easy going personality. Dusty gets along just fine with both dogs and cats, and if you give him a minute to get to know you, he'll just love you. Dusty is ready to meet a family that will love him forever and never let him go. File#26792 10/22/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dusty, a Forked River Silky Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Silky Terrier for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Silky Terrier dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Silky Terrier breeders who help with Silky Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
