Hi guys! I'm Rizzo and I'm a 50-pound, 2-year-old American bulldog. I'm a "Swinging Tap Dancer," so I love going on walks and getting cuddles at home. My fur is a pretty white-and-black mix. I have lots of energy, but I promise I won't wear you out. I also love leading the way with my nose on walks or around the yard. I just completed a program called The Peaceable Paws Intern Academy and now know tricks like "sit" and "paw". I'm just looking for someone to continue my training.

A nice foster man came and scooped me up for a foster break and I am so grateful! I love my peeps at the shelter but I just get too stressed out there. Here's what he wanted to tell you about me:

"She's super sweet, eager to play, and cuddly. She's been great at work and has become very comfortable with the long car rides, sleeping almost the entire way. She plays fetch well, loves the rope, and squeak toys. Honestly, for the most part, she's an incredible dog. She's starting to understand 'sit' and 'come' but only when she is calm. She can get distracted easily on walks and we are working on that, but she's definitely still a puppy when it comes to distractions. She is such an amazing dog in every way!"

About The Maryland SPCA

About Our Shelter...

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
