Nellie's Story...
Nellie is a SUPER friendly lab/pointer bird dog mix puppy who was picked up as a stray in Southern, IL. She is full of puppy energy and wiggles! Nellie is a typical puppy that wants to play and run, so a fenced yard would be awesome for her! Nellie is currently at the White County Shelter, but if you are interested in adopting her, Howlin 4 HELP will send you an application to adopt a shelter dog. We can then pull her from the shelter to have ALL her vetting done, including her spay, rabies and microchip. She would love to be part of your family for the holidays! The cost to adopt Nellie is $250.00. For an application, please email christine@howlin4help.com for an adoption application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie, a Somonauk Labrador Retriever/Pointer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Somonauk, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer puppy from a breeder in Somonauk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Somonauk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Somonauk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Somonauk paves the way for another one to be saved.
